Picture Meme

I received this meme from Ana of Chica and Pumuckl. Thanks kitties and mommy!

Here are the rules:
1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures. 2. Go to the 6th Folder and then pick the 6th Picture.
3. Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes with the picture.
4. Tag 5 other glorious people to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog telling them about it.

The 6th folder is titled 'Dad' and it has photos of my parents and other things that my dad asked me to resize. This is the 6th photo in that folder. It is my parent's wedding photo forty-four years ago. They got married when they were 30 years old. My dad was then a Captain in the Army and my mom was an Optometrist. My mom's gown was custom made and is full of beads. She told me that her train is very long and very heavy. I remember seeing this gown when I was younger. She also kept those pointy shoes with killer heels. Sadly, neither I nor my sister used her wedding gown. My mom was super skinny before and I think her waist was only 20. Can you imagine that? LOL Anyway, maybe my daughter will be able to use it. Oh wait, I remember she told me that she wouldn't get married. She said that she'll just get a dog, a cat and a horse. LOL

Ok, I have to break the last rule. I'm tagging Lanie, Mira, Amy, Carlota, Amor and Lou.

  3. very nice wedding gown mareng barb, sayang di nyo nagamit ang kanyang gown. My mother had very nice wedding gown, but we don't know what happened to it because her relatives keep it when we were very young. I will do this tag later today if I have time. thanks for tagging me.

    My parents kept a lot of photos when they were younger. I remember we have a suitcase full of photos. How come you didn't see a wedding photo of your parents?

    Yes, she was very thin that time. In fact, they didn't admit her to Nursing school because she was underweight.

    You're my #1 fan, you are on the top of my commenters. LOL Too bad that you don't know where it is. But think about it, you probably wouldn't want to use it considering what she did, right? The gown you wore when you had your church wedding in the Philippines is beautiful. Did you bring it back here?

Yeah, I have it here cause I don't want to leave at home(Philippines) My mother had a beautiful wedding gown too, pero hindi lang long train pero maganda siya sayang nga di na namin alam kung saan. I will had to ask my sister to ask our relatives. My mother is the only child and her mother died at infant age,,relatives nalang ang nagpalaki sa kanya.

  7. Hello Barb,ang ganda naman ng wedding gown ng mother mo.Wow 20 lang yong waist nya,how I wish ganyan ako ngayon hahaha.Natawa naman ako sa sinabi ni Amber na ayaw nya mag asawa :)

  9. Wow, seeing mommy now I wouldn't ever imagined that she used to have 20" waistline ;-). It would have been nice for you or your sister to wear a classic wedding gown with matching shoes, LOL. Ok I will grab this now, and hopefully won't stay long in my draft, he he.
