I used to watch the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 when it just started. The kids are cute and it was funny watching them interact with each other. But then, I saw how their mom treated their dad. I was thinking that the title should be Kate Plus 9 considering how she treated him, like one of her kids. It was belittling how she talked down to him.
There was an episode where they were at some kind of store, I don't remember if it's a department store or a light fixture store. Anyway, Kate humiliated her husband in public, yes, in front of their kids and other shoppers. I don't know if their regular viewers saw the same thing, if not, maybe they're wearing rose-colored glasses. I stopped watching because I don't like the mom's attitude, she rubs me the wrong way. Now, all these hoopla about the parents are all over the airwaves. It looks like they're heading for a divorce. But wait, if they are, then why is there a new contract for 40 more episodes? Would people want to watch a family disintegrate? How sad...

New Zealand, Someday
New Zealand is one of countries on our list to visit. Can you tell we've been bitten by the travel bug? We want to see New Zealand someday. Since it's on the other side of the world, it'll happen most likely in dh's next sabbatical. He gets a month sabbatical from work every 7 years, thanks to the company who made the microprocessor inside your computer (maybe). Who wouldn't want to visit New Zealand? If you're a nature
lover like us, you will fall in love with this country. Just look at the photos right here, can you imagine being there and seeing it all in person? It is going to be breath-taking! 5.26.2009
Summer Vacation Soon
Three more weeks and it will be my kids' summer vacation. Wow, time flies! This time of the year, the kids are busy with school field trips, projects and of course, final exams for daughter A. I can't wait for all of these to be over so we can concentrate on preparing for our trip to the Philippines. My parents, who live in southern California, are already there. My parents are excited to see their grandkids and they already have the house ready for them. My sister and two of her kids are coming too so it is going to be a blast.
My daughter is only half-excited because she will be missing summer camp. She's been going to this summer day camp for years and she always have a blast. This year though, she's not going since we'll spend a month out of the country. I don't know if she realizes how lucky she is to be taking all these wonderful vacations abroad. Last year, we went to Europe for a month but she was still able to attend camp. We were able to make it happen since we left for our vacation the first week of June. This year though, we will be leaving on the 28th and will be back the first week of August. She asked me if we can stay home next summer. My answer? I don't know yet since dh and I are thinking of the cruises we've been and how we want to go on another one. As for now, I am looking forward to visiting my old country. Let me tell you, I can taste the lechon, star apple, marang and mangoes now. LOL

Fixed It!
I thought that my Kitchen Aid blender was dead as a door nail when the coupler broke last month while I was making strawberry milkshake. Thanks to the internet, especially the Amazon.com users, my favorite blender was given a new lease on life. I was ready to replace my broken blender and was searching for a new one at Amazon. I was looking for the same brand and saw that the new model's pitcher is made of plastic not glass like my old one. I was disappointed, of course. So I searched using the old model as a keyword. I found out that changing the coupler was easy and definitely much cheaper than buying a new one. Thanks to the reviews and feedback, I found out how to do it. I ordered the new part which cost me less than $10 and I asked dh to do it for me. Voila, in less than 5 minutes, my old blender is as good as new. Thank goodness I didn't give up easily. Now my blender is ready to make more strawberry and chocolate milkshakes for the kiddos.

Lost Widgets and More
I lost my widgets when I had Photobucket problems last week. My top Entrecard droppers for last month isn't showing up since I have to do it over again. My apologies. I should have it at the end of the week. (I'm crossing my fingers here. LOL) I'm also missing my Top Commenters widget and some knick-knacks. It's the same story with my mommy blog. It's just crazy.
All this happened in the midst of my busiest month. May is always loaded with doctors and dentists' appointment for the whole family. Then we had hair appointments for both kids, etc, etc. Last Monday, dh and I chaperoned A's class to the city. The first half of the trip was a little wet and very cold. I'm just glad that it wasn't a downpour. There were a lot of parents who chaperoned so dh and I only had A and two girls. There's another field trip coming up, this time it will be my son's and they are going to the zoo. How fun!

PhotoHunt - Painted Houses, Ceilings and Walls
I photographed these two pretty painted buildings in Trier, Germany. I think that painted buildings and houses are more prevalent in the southern part of the country.
This building is Schwangau, Germany where the famous Neuschwanstein castle is located.
These two photos were taken inside the Vatican museum. This first one is one of the many painted domes and the second one is from one of the Rafael rooms. This room is huge and all the walls and every part of the ceiling is covered with paintings by the artist Rafael. The photos doesn't do it justice. It is simply stunning.

Photobucket Maintenance
Two of my blogs are nekid today. Apparently, Photobucket is doing some kind of maintenance. Since the photos from my layout are hosted by Photobucket, all you see here is a white page. I guess some accounts are not accessible at this time. I can log in but couldn't access my photo albums. I emailed the tech support and was informed of the maintenance. So pardon my nekid blog, I hope things will revert to normal ASAP.

I needed a breather. That was it. I took time off from dropping ECs last month. I felt it was starting to be a chore. I never strived to drop 300 a day, no way Jose. I was only dropping from my Inbox plus other blogs that were in my bookmark. I only started dropping again a couple of days ago and I dropped from my EC Inbox. I am now starting to get back to dropping regularly. I used to be a dropaholic but not anymore. Maybe I will be back in that list sometime but it won't be in the next couple of months. I even took a time off from blogging and just RELAXED. Don't you want to do that sometimes? It felt good to take time off from blogging. Now I think I'm all set to go back to the thick of things and I'll have to look for liporexall review online since my cousin asked me to look into it.

House is Crazy?
I just finished watching the final episode of House for this season. What a shocker! It was a sad ending, well, a little happy since there was a wedding. Seeing House walking towards the psychiatric hospital was heart breaking, for me, at least. I know, he's grumpy, smartass, etc. but his character grows on you. Deep inside that grumpy and rough exterior, he's just a lonely guy who needs a friend and someone to love. Eeww, getting mushy here. Anyway, I cannot wait until the new season starts. This is definitely one series that I religiously watch every week.
*On a side note, thanks to all who sent their Mother's Day greetings. I hope you all had a great one too! Kids and dh did their special Mother's Day breakfast. My daughter wanted it to be breakfast-in-bed but I am an early riser so I've been up for 2 hours before they got up. Nonetheless, it was a nice gesture.
I have to find how to get my 'blogging groove' back. It's been missing which explains the number of posts these past couple of weeks. Wish me luck!

His Forty-Something Birthday
So what have I been up to? Well, I shopped, packed and celebrated dh's birthday. He celebrated his 40 something birthday yesterday but we started the celebration last Sunday. We went to this restaurant called CBS Scene in the Patriots Stadium. The ambiance was really nice for a sports bar with huge flat screen TVs everywhere and a small one in each table. Our server was superb. That's all the good things I can say about the place. Oh wait, the French fries and house salad were good too. That's about it. The rest of the food was a disappointment. The beef tenderloin was over-cooked, the calamari appetizer should be called onions and peppers with some calamari and the pizza was, well...our local pizzeria makes better pizza. Hmm, we should've gone to Five Guys Burgers. Could it be that we just came on a bad day? Probably, but after reading some reviews at OpenTable.com where we made our reservations, it seems the kitchen isn't consistent. Would I recommend it? No, not unless you like playing Russian roulette.

PhotoHunt #16 - Walking
This is one of my favorite photo in Florence, Italy. I saw this priest walking beside the Duomo. I was drawn to his cassock and hat since I rarely see priests here in the US wear those things anymore.
This next photo was of my family walking inside the Doge's Palace grounds in Venice, Italy. If you go, I suggest taking the tour inside the palace, it's well worth it. They also offer the Doge's Secret Itinerary tour and I heard it is very interesting. We didn't take that because we had the kids with us. Go in the afternoon when there are no lines.

Thanks to all my Entrecard droppers. I've been erratic in my dropping this past month but there are a lot of you that have been consistently visiting my blog. To thank those who have dropped the most in the past month, I've put up a do-follow link to your blog in my sidebar.
Speaking of Entrecard, have you noticed the drop in paid advertisements? I remember when it just started, there were a lot of paid advertisers. I still have a lot of those in my queue but I cannot wait until the ads are those from fellow ECarders who bought it with their hard-earned credits.
**How come those paid ADs that I haven't approved and are still pending is showing upon my EC widget? I was surprised to see this AD with the sexy blonde and 'Single?' written on it. I left this particular AD pending on my dashboard. What the heck is going on? Mind you, there are older paid ADs that have been approved previously yet this new one that I have not approved is in my widget. WTH?
