I hope not! Early this morning, I filled up my SUV. Afterwards, inside the car, I just realized that I didn't have any hand sanitizer in my pocket book or in the car. I almost panicked (well, kinda) and that's when I realized that I may be becoming a germophobe. Is it just me or is anyone out there feeling the same thing? Everytime I come home from shopping or any public place, I make sure that the kids and I either wash our hands or put on some hand sanitizer. Especially during these times wherein the fear of getting the H1N1 virus or Swine flu is very real, it is important to be extra vigilant. Every week, I hear in the news that a healthy kid or teen died from this virus and it is scary. I'm out of those anti-bacterial wipes since I gave the last two tubs to my kids' class. I need to stock up on it and also shop for the best weight loss pills that my cousin from the Philippines asked me to get for her.

Is It the Right Price?
When paying for my groceries or items I shopped, I sometimes wonder if the price I'm getting is the right one. I've seen some news reports that sometimes the wrong price is scanned. That's why I have made it a habit to check the receipt either while I'm still on the parking lot or when I get back home. I just want to be sure that I paid the correct price since there are times wherein the incorrect price will show up when the item goes through the barcode scanner. So pay attention to the prices on the shelf and the price when the item is scanned. It pays to be vigilant.

Devastation in the Philippines
I feel so helpless when I found out about the flooding in Pasig and the surrounding cities. My parents still own the house I grew up in and no one currently lives there. So I'm sure that when the flood waters went up. all the furnitures in the first floor got wet. I know that there are people who are worst off than my family and I cannot imagine what they are going through. There are many families who have been displaced because their houses are deep in water, only the roof is showing. They lost everything. I heard that there is another storm coming, I hope and pray that it will get weaker as it approches the Philippines.
My sisters and I, along with my mom are going back to the Philippines next month. I don't know if everything will be cleaned up by then. It's not a vacation this time, my father passed away and we're bringing his remains back to Pasig. I'll do a little shopping of course, I also need to get some facial and acne products from my childhood friend who's also a dermatologist.

Eastwood - What a Difference
When I left the Philippines twenty years ago, the area around Libis, Quezon City was an empty field. What a big difference twenty years later! Now, that area is full of office buildings occupied by companies offering call center services, different restaurants, a big shopping mall and a lot of condominiums. It is also at this mall where I saw a Mc Donald's that is very chic. It looks more like a cafe than a Mickey Ds.

Now that my daughter is entering the 'tween' stage, I am seriously considering moving her computer downstairs. Right now, all the computers are in the computer room with the exception of my notebook which is in the kitchen counter. We use a wireless Linksys router so I'm still connected to the internet. Back to the kids' computer, since we all hear about these horor stories of kids and the internet, I want to be able to monitor their computer use. She doesn't use any chat programs and she's not in any social networking sites. She's not interested and even if she is, I won't let her use those. I don't know how long I can keep it this way but I want to take all precautions necessary.
