Vitamins - They're Good for You

I remember growing up, my mom would always have us take our daily vitamins. It would've been nice if it was in a tablet or capsule form but no, it's liquid and has an aftertaste. Good thing that she switched to a different brand and it was more palatable, it was sweet with an orangey taste. Now that I'm a mom myself, I give my children their daily vitamins. It is easy for me because it's in the form of a gummy (although their dentist wouldn't be happy with it! But I make sure that their teeth gets cleaned very well and no gummies are left in the nooks and crannies). It doesn't matter what age we're in, since we do not get the recommended daily servings of vitamins our body need, we need to take daily supplements and this is especially important if you are pregnant - then you have to take prenatal vitamins religiously.

Self-Medication

I know of some people who prefer to 'self-medicate' instead of seeing a doctor for their ailments. This is good for just simple illness like a headache, cold, cough or stomach ache. But if it has been weeks and months and there is no change, then for goodness sakes, see a doctor! There are a lot of websites where you can check out symptoms and recommended cure for illnesses - from the simple aches and pains, to the more serious diseases. There are even dedicated websites for different illnesses and recommended treatment like eczema treatment. One has to remember that it still is best to see a 'real'doctor than self-diagnose and self-medicate.

EA Sports Active

It has been a week since dh and I started using the EA Sports Active, a Nintendo Wii-based exercise program. So far, so good! We both enjoy it and we haven't felt bored with it. Unlike the Wii Fit exercises, these one are varied enough that you don't feel like "ugh! this again?! I hope this works in helping us lose a couple of pounds, if not, then we'd probably have to resort to a quick trim fast cleanse.

Colon Cleanse - Does it Work?

I've heard and read about celebrities using these colon cleanse products to jump start their weight loss. Has anyone else tried these products and successfully lost weight? Or is it just like any other diet wherein you do lose weight for the first month but then you gain it back after a while. I'm also wary of using these products for fear of any side effects it might have. I know there are a lot of websites like http://www.coloncleanserreview.net with reviews on different brands but I would rather hear it from someone who actually used it.

30-Day Challenge

After getting bored with the exercises that came with the Nintendo Wii Balance Board, I am so glad that I found EA Sports Active. It is so different from the Wii Fit exercises that got so repetitive after awhile. With the EA Sports Active, the exercises you perform varies from day to day. You can also choose the 30-day challenge option or you can customize your own exercises daily. It also helps that your avatar looks like a real person. I hope that with this exercise regimen, I will reach my healthy weight. Then I don't have to go into extremes like other people who use those colon cleansing weight loss regimen.

Seeking for the Fountain of Youth...NOT

I'm one of those people who's not afraid to say their age when asked. Why hide it? I don't see the need to lie about one's age and couldn't understand why some people go to great lengths to do it. There is one thing that I do when it comes to this ageing thing, I try to take care so as to slow-down my physical ageing. I know it's hard but taking back 1-5 yrs off is a big deal when you're in your 40's. So aside from staying out of the sun, which we all know can give you wrinkles, I am thinking of using anti-ageing products. So now, I am on the hunt for the best anti wrinkle eye cream out there. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Olay products, aside from being inexpensive, they beat out more expensive brands in those trials.

Starting a New Life in America

I just learned that a friend arrived in North Carolina last month. She's separated from her husband and is currently looking for employment in that state. I do hope that she finds a job so she can stay here in the US permanently. It would be nice if she gets good benefits, I do not know if North Carolina health insurance is good and affordable. She has until the end of March to get employed, after that, she has to decide if she still wants to stay here or go back to Manila. I wish her good luck.

Car Repairs

Finally, we will have the small dent in my SUV repaired. Some low-life hit the SUV in the grocery parking lot and did not leave any information. It took a long time for dh to get the ball rolling but I have been patient. After this, we need to have the windshield replaced. There was a tiny crack that has now become very long. It is a good thing that insurance will cover the replacement windshield. I cannot imagine how it is going to cost if it is some expensive thing like Ferrari parts.

Forever Single

That's my best friend. I have stopped wishing for the day when she will send out wedding invitations. I guess she is one of those people that will remain single for the rest of their lives. There is nothing wrong with that, but I was hoping that she will have a family like the rest of us, her friends. I know she wanted to get married before but due to circumstances, that just has not happened. From what I learned, she has accepted that she will not get married. I do hope that this will change.

Tweens...Career

Is it too early for a tween to think of what career to go into? My girl just turned 11 years old a couple of days ago, time sure flies by too quickly! During dinner time, one of the topics discussed is what they want to be when they grow up. Even our 5 year old son is participating in the discussion. I think it's a good way to instill in their young minds that having a good career in which you are doing what you love and enjoy is very important in life. Right now, my daughter is leaning towards being a software engineer, considering both dh and I are engineer, of couse, we're happy with that. There are a lot of opportunities out there like designing project management software or maybe even video games.
