Our car insurance is up for renewal. We have our cars insured with MetLife and so far, we have no problems with them. But I still make it a point to shop around for good deals, yes, even auto insurance. Doing so will maybe help you save a couple of hundred dollars a year. That is definitely not loose change. Of course, you also have to research the insurance company, it may give you cheap insurance but you need to read the fine print. You wouldn't want to be shortchanged when the time comes for you to file a claim.

When Will Her Feet Stop Growing?
I have an 11-year old. It seems that she grows taller every month! When I went back to the Philippines 6 months ago, I bought her a nice pair of sandals, size 6. Now, half-a-year later, it doesn't fit her feet anymore! How fast do kids' feet grow? My daughter obviously took after her dad, she's tall for her age, although she's of average height in her class which is full of tall kids. She's already 5'0" at 11 years old, one more inch and she'll be as tall as me! I'm sure that the Ugg boots that I got her a two years ago will not fit this coming winter. I'm just glad that I bought the bigger size boot and she was able to use it for a couple of season. Now, she's at the age where she is very picky when it comes to clothes and shoes. A girlf-girl, she's definitely not.

♥ Phil Mickelson
I watched the Masters last weekend. I always watch every year; dh is a golfer so he watches too. This year, I was rooting for Phil Mickelson to win the Masters. He seems to be a very nice man, a good family man who clearly loves and adores his wife. Tiger Woods is one of the best golfer there is, if not The Best but he fails miserably when it comes to character. I am glad he did not win the title this year. He will win more tournaments, no doubt about that, but I feel that if he won the Masters, then his ego which is already up the stratospher would've been given a boost - one that he already does not need. Good for Elin if she decides to divorce him. At least she's not going to need to take the best diet pills since she's in very good shape. I think that people like Tiger Woods, John Edwards, etc. are narcissist.
Getting Enough Zzzzzs
I'm an early riser, no matter what time I go to sleep at night, I always wake up before 7am. It is very rare that I sleep past that time, yes, even if I'm so tired! No matter what I do, my mind is awake even though my body still wants to sleep.
I read that there were studies done that have shown that people who do not get enough rest tend to weigh more than those who do. It said that skimping on sleep throws appetite hormones out of whack, making you hungrier. Hmm, could it be? I guess if people get enough sleep, then there would be less internet search for lipozene reviews in Google. So Aim to get at least seven to nine hours a night.
Too Early to Think of College?
My daughter is now in 5th grade but she already has some ideas on what she'd like to study when she's in college. Actually, she's been talking about it even before she started school. I don't think any age is too young to talk to about what they want to be when they grow up. I believe that we should open up the idea to young children so that it would stay in their minds. I grew up in a family where the only option is to go to higher education after high school, no IFs or BUTs. The only question is 'What course will you be taking?' and "Where will you enroll?'. That is why even my son, who is only in Kindergarten, is already talking about what he wants to be when he grows up. I kept on telling my children that they can be anything they want to be as long as they set their mind to it. They can be an astronaut, a veterinarian, an engineer, a lawyer (even one who specializes in asbestos mesothelioma cases) or even a doctor or a teacher. As long as they love and enjoy what they're doing, then I will be a happy mom.
Losing Weight After 40
It is so hard! It seems like you have to do triple the amount of workout just to lose a little bit of weight. It didn't help that I had my kids after 30 either. Well, it was my choice to start a family later. I knew I wasn't ready to be a mom when I was in my 20's. I had too many things to do and it would be unfair to my children if they didn't get the attention that they need. The downside is, your body doesn't go back to it's former shape. Oh well, at least there are a lot of clothing products that we can use like the kymaro body shaper. You know, it keeps 'everything' in place. At this age, what's important is that I am healthy, and my family loves me. So there.

Meet Cooper aka Coop, our family pet. He is a pure bred Bichon Frise. He is now 14 months old and we've had him for a month. He is so sweet yet he can be rambunctious too! Having a puppy is like having a baby in the house. We had to 'puppy proof' the house and make sure nothing is on the floor that he can choke on. So in the family room, we have the basket for the Wii-motes on top of the tv stands , he aleady chewed on the wire of one Nunchuck. He is a lot of work. Thank goodness that after only 3 weeks, he's already trained to go bathroom on the pee pads.
I'm Back...For Now
Ahhh, LIFE...it does get in the way of active blogging. Well, the other distraction is FaceBook - something I need to have less of daily for sure! It would be better if I have been reading textbooks to broaden my knowledge, but FB is much more fun! My tween has been commenting that her classmates are on FB but I am still leery on letting her open an account. I know there are privacy controls in FB and I know of a lot of parents who opened account for their kids, some as young as 3! Can you imagine that? Why would a 3 year old need his/her own FB page? Oh well, to each his own. So, from this day forward, I plan to spend a couple of hours to my blogs. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
