I'm in my shopping mode today. It is Cyber Monday and that means a lot of shopping for me. But I also need coupons and I will take whatever I can find. Not all stores offer free shipping and sometimes those fees can reach as high as $10 or more. There are some stores like Walmart that will ship your order to your local store for free which is convenient especially if you want to save money on shipping charges. I already shopped at Macy's and got free shipping just because my total came to more than $75. I admit, I had to add a couple of items just to reach that amount but hey, with the deal I got, like the $12 junior jacket, it is worth it.

Shopping Day for Me
Cyber Monday! Yay! I am not one of those people who were out very early the day after Thanksgiving. No ma'amm, I was in my bed where it is warm and comfy. I was too tired from the day before to go out shopping on Black Friday. I do not like to wait in long lines either. I have seen the footage from past Black Fridays where people 10ft. deep were waiting to get into the stores. I would rather shop in the comfort of my home, with my mug of hot coffee beside me. Not wearing PJs though.

What to Give?
Black Friday Deals
Cannot wait till tomorrow, Sunday! Why? Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the store adverts for their After Thanksgiving Sale also known as Black Friday. I'm looking for great deals on men's clothing and those for teenagers. I still don't have a teen, but she's getting there. I just hope that Iwon't be too tired to wake up the morning after Thanksgiving.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
Thanksgiving dinner that is. It is my brother-in-law's new girl friend! I've met her once, when he brought her to my MIL's Labor Day cookout. She seems nice and well-mannered. I believe she is a special education teacher. If she is, then is it fair to surmise that she is nice? I know that people who work with children who has special needs are very patient and has a lot of empathy. We'll see. I hope my brother in law is happy, he deserves to be. So with the added pressure of having a new person joining my Thanksgiving dinner party, I am crossing my fingers that there will not be any disasters. I'm sticking to the traditional menu, roast turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet yams, home made jellied cranberries, fresh baked rolls, roasted veggies, candied carrots, green bean casserole and pumpkin swirl cheesecake. Wow, I'm going to cook forever!

I cannot wear tall boots. I'm talking about boots that reach up to the middle of the calves. I have fat calves, so big that it needs it's own diet pills. No kidding! ha ha I bought a pair of Uggs tall boots in leather and when I tried it on...it fits snug on my calves. hmmm, bummmer! Good thing my daughter wears the same size boot so I just exchanged it with her new Ugg boots. The one she had is the Bailey Triple Button boot and it is wider on the calves. Oh well, at least I can wear this, although I'd have to use my boot cut jeans with it or some tights.

A big sigh for me, and I haven't even started prepping for Thanksgiving dinner! It's the seventh year us to host this occassion and let me tell you, it is so tiring but worth it at the end. Thanksgiving is the start of the holidays here in the USA. You know what that means, there are many parties to go to. With parties comes food, not just any food but good food. Hmm, maybe I should try drinking diet tea or try this forslean product. I'm no athlete and my metabolism has slowed down. So the only thing to do is exercise a lot! No kidding! :\ ugh...

What do you think is a nice gift for the hosts of the Thanksgiving dinner? Some people bring a bottle of wine but then it is a hit or miss depending on whether it is the kind that the hosts like. I think a best bet would be flowers or some kind of table arrangement. I prefer this over wine since we already have a couple of bottles of wine that we will serve that day. I heard the AD of ProFlowers on the radio. It is easy to do, just call the toll-free number or go to their website and place your order. You can choose when you want it delivered.
$147.00 - This Year's Thanksgiving Feast
I think I should start to jot down how much I spent for each year's Thanksgiving feast. I wonder if it'll go up each year. We've been having Thanksgiving dinner here in my house for about 7 years now since my MIL said she doesn't want to do it anymore since it's too much work. What happened to doing things for family? Hmmm, whatever. Anyway, everybody prefers my cooking anyway. :\
So I went food shopping this morning and I spent about $147 on the ingredients for the Thanksgiving feast. I bought two 11-lb fresh turkey this year. I was planning to get a 15-lb turkey and a breast but I saw that the breast cost almost $7/lb. That is too expensive! So, I opted for the smaller turkeys. It takes faster to cook and there's 2 extra legs for those who want it. I knew I was going to forget something and found out back home that I forgot to get the jellied cranberry (dh and his brothers prefer this!). Oh well, one item is forgivable. Now, the prepping begins!

Finally, No Texting
I've seen a lot of 'near miss' while driving on the roads. 90% of the time, it is because of distracted drivers. This is just not in city streets mind you, it is on the freeway! My pet peeve is with drivers who yak on the phone or text even and are not mindful of other cars. The car is swerving out of their lanes and into my lane. Geez! Where do they think they are, in the middle of the desert? I wish there is a way to rat these people out to their car insurance company so they will hopefully stop these dangerous driving practices.

I ♥ Ralph Lauren
Sometimes, the old adage 'You get what you pay for' holds true, and when it comes to sweaters, especially those that are made of cashmere, I agree with it. I've always wanted to own a cashmere sweaters since forever. It was not affordable for me back then, I could only afford a mix blend of cashmere and other stuff. I figured that if I am going to buy cashmere, then I might as well buy one that is of nice quality, like the ones by Ralph Lauren. I love their clothes, classic and preppy, just my style. It will last longer and wear out slower. Don't get me wrong though, I wear affordable clothes too. It's just once in a while, I like to splurge and invest in a good piece of clothing, don't you?
